Everyone has a story. But when God changes your life, that story becomes more than just a memory — it becomes a tool He can use to change someone else’s life.
Think about it: You may not have all the answers. You might not be able to explain every theological detail or quote Scripture by memory. But if you’ve been changed by Jesus, you have something powerful to share. The difference in your life — from who you were to who you are now — might be exactly what someone else needs to hear.
Life change is compelling. It’s real. And people are hungry for real. In John 9, there’s a man who was born blind. After Jesus healed him, religious leaders bombarded him with questions, trying to discredit what happened. His response was simple:
“Whether he is a sinner or not, I don’t know. One thing I do know. I was blind but now I see.” (John 9:25)
That’s it. He didn’t debate theology. He didn’t quote doctrine. He just shared his story — “I was blind, but now I see.” You may not know everything about Jesus yet. But if He has changed your life, you know enough to say: “I was lost, but now I’m found. I was broken, but now I’m being healed. I was blind, but now I see.”
The beauty of your testimony is that it doesn’t require a pulpit or a stage. It happens in everyday moments — at the barbershop, over coffee, in the checkout line at the grocery store, on a fishing boat, or while rocking a newborn baby to sleep. Your story can be shared in countless ways: invite friends or family to celebrate baby dedications or baptisms, bring them along to community events, open up in a small group, or share life together in the ordinary routines of work, hobbies, and family.
One man’s story of addiction and recovery might be what inspires another to believe freedom is possible. A woman’s testimony of healing may be what sparks hope for someone who feels hopeless. A teenager’s simple faith could lead a friend to Christ. These aren’t fairy tales — they’re real-life moments that ripple outward. A changed life changes lives.
Do you have a story of life change? Have you experienced forgiveness, healing, or restoration through Christ? If so, God didn’t just give you that testimony for your own sake — He gave it to you so you can share it. You might feel nervous, unqualified, or unsure of what to say. That’s okay. The power isn’t in how polished your words are — the power is in what Jesus has done.
This week, pray for an opportunity to share your story. Look for the moments — big or small — where someone might need hope. Whether you’re inviting them to a baptism, sharing coffee after work, or simply saying, “Can I tell you what God did for me?” — be bold. Your life can change a life.
