Gordon was saved in 1972 in Montgomery, Alabama. He began preaching a year later. His full-time ministry started in 1979 in Panama City, Florida, at Central Baptist Church. After assuming the role of Sunday School Administrator in 1984, the Sunday school grew from 350 to 1500 in six years. In 1991, he became pastor of Fundamental Baptist Church in Pensacola, Florida. The church experienced rapid growth and soon outgrew the buildings. The church voted to relocate and changed the name to Marcus Pointe Baptist Church.
In 26 years, the average weekly attendance has climbed from 63 to more than 1900. The church supports numerous missionaries at home and around the world and a Christian School that includes preschool and elementary, along with an online academy for 3rd – 12th grades. Other ministries include a Thrift Store and Food Pantry. Sportsman’s Night Out is held every year for over 3,000 people! A new, 2000-seat Worship Center was completed in September 2003. The church has averaged more than 700 salvations and 300 baptisms a year.
Pastor Godfrey has served, and is serving, on several boards, including the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Tennessee Temple University Board of Trustees, Tim Lee Ministries, and S.C.O.R.E. International. Pastor Godfrey has conducted numerous Sunday School and Stewardship Growth Conferences and has written several books and manuals regarding church growth and management. He and his wife June have three children: Becky, Greg, and Bobby, and six grandchildren: MacKenzie, Ryleigh, Abigayle, Jackson, Coleman, and Winston.
Tommy leads the pastoral and administrative staff as well as overseeing the day to day operations of the ministries here at Marcus Pointe. He assists Pastor Godfrey in fulfilling the vision and goals that God has given our ministry: to connect people to God, to each other and to the lost world both here in Pensacola and around the World.
Tommy and his wife Sherry have three beautiful children and two beautiful grandchildren. He wasn’t raised in a Christian home but accepted Christ as his Savior as a teenager then began serving in full-time ministry, when he was 23. God has given him a burden to share Christ with people and help them develop their spiritual gifts. Tommy and Sherry have committed their lives to helping people grow in their relationship with Christ and challenge them to full-fill God’s plan for their life. He enjoys spending time with his family, reading and following college football.
Rob Hilbun is currently in his 14th year in Student Ministry. Even though our culture is drastically changing, Rob has a heart to keep things simple. His desire is to see students saved, discipled, and sent out. His passion for students is evident through his preaching and discipleship. Rob published his first book “Church In The Streets” in 2014 and it can be found in Barnes and Noble and Amazon.com. Rob began to serve as Student Pastor at Marcus Pointe Baptist Church, April of 2015. He and his wife Ashley have three children: Bethany (6), Levi (4), and Samuel (2).

Robbie is a native of Pensacola and Graduate of Full Sail University where he studied Film and Television. He’s also a Two-Time Suncoast Emmy Award Nominee and during his time off enjoys photography and being the Track Announcer at 5 Flags Speedway. He and his wife Tiffany have been married for 8 years and have one child together.
Colton and his wife both grew up in the Pensacola area have been married for five years. They do not have any children, but they do have an awesome dog named Sadie. He has a BA in Philosophy and a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of West Florida, also he is currently working towards an Masters of Divinity (M. Div.) from Liberty University. Colton has been serving in ministry since the age of 16, either through a leadership team, internship, or staff position. He has a heart for college students and discipleship through missions locally and internationally. In his free time, he enjoys reading, golfing, and Auburn football!
Matthew Graff received a master’s degree in educational administration and taught at the elementary, middle school, and high school levels. Most recently, he served as vice principal of Rosedale Baptist School in Baltimore, Maryland, and as president of the Maryland Association of Christian Schools Athletics Commission (MACSAC). He currently teaches 5th grade, and directs the online academy at Marcus Pointe Christian School.
Melissa has a bachelor’s degree from Baptist Bible College in Springfield, MO. She was a co-owner of a successful photography studio for seven years. She brings innovative ideas, cutting edge marketing plan, and personality to the Marcus Pointe Thrift Store.
She has been married to Rusty for six years. They enjoy ministry opportunities at Marcus Pointe, and are excited about what the future holds.
