Prime Timers is the Senior Adult ministry of Marcus Pointe. Those aged 55 and above are invited to participate in a number of events, Bible study groups (Life Groups), ministry and socials. Our aim is to provide a Christian atmosphere for seniors to meet new friends, pray together and enjoy life in a dynamic adult environment.

If you are looking for a church where you can make friends and enjoy growing in the Lord we invite you to come to one of our exciting Sunday services, at 9:15 am or 10:45 am. We also meet on Wednesday nights at 6:30.

Upcoming Events

Christmas Dinner Show – Friday, December 16th at 6:30 PM – Tickets are $15

Small Groups

Our small Bible study groups are called Life Groups and we have several that meet weekly on Sundays or during the week.

We can help you find one that you like either for single adults, or couples. Sunday Life Groups meet at 8:00 am and also at 9:15 am. Ask on of the Greeters at the door where to find a meeting place on campus.

Currently we have nine small Bible study groups that include senior adults. There is one FOR YOU!

Social Events

Our Senior Adult ministry at Marcus Pointe is very active and exciting! We have monthly luncheons, day trips and activities. Every fifth Sunday we have a special hymn singing fellowship with a southern gospel concert included.

Every three months we do a major event for fun and fellowship. Last year’s events included a Hee-Haw Country Talent Show and Cookout at the Barn in Molino, a Fabulous Fifties Party with all the music and decorations from “our” era.

Last fall we took a beautiful 7 day charter bus tour through the Smokies into Lancaster, PA’s Amish country, then on to a Broadway show in New York, then down to N.C. to visit the Billy Graham Library.

We also take day-trips together in our neighboring area occasionally.

Opportunities To Serve

A great many of our seniors also serve in various places in our church such as, ushers, greeters, choir and orchestra members, teachers, Life Group leaders, children’s choir workers, nursery and preschool staff, kitchen and meal preparation and serving, food pantry, shut in visitation, hospital calls, phone call outreach, men’s barn meetings and much more.

We still need more people to serve who are able to do so. How about you?

Shut In Visitation

We have several teams that visit our shut-ins in area rest homes and assisted living facilities. If this is an area you would like to serve in we can help you get involved.

Serving and Preparing Meals

We host meals regularly for the families attending funerals and special occasions. We also serve our Law Enforcement personnel once a year at our church, among many meals we help host.

Widows Fellowship

We have just started a Widow’s fellowship that currently meets monthly for lunch and fellowship. This ministry will eventually meet weekly and will help meet the various needs of our widows. Many need friends and social connections. Some need help with their house, car and other needs. Our church is ready to meet those needs through this ministry.
